The Elsmere Public Library is one location of the New Castle County Libraries and serves about 71,570 residents in the City of Wilmington. As an affiliate of the Library System, Elsmere Public Library contributes print and digital resources to the 749,185 volumes on hand and approximately 3.5 million items circulated annually by the New Castle Libraries. It is housed in a shared building with the City of Elsmere and the Elsmere Senior Center and is open Monday to Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday. It offers free computer classes, tax preparation, and various library events, including Storytime, Summer Crafternoon, Dungeons & Dragons, Senior Coffe Hour, and Games.
