The Claymont Public Library serves about 10,190 residents in the City of Claymont and is one of the New Castle Libraries. The library has books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, music, videos, and digital collections contributing to the Library Systems 749,185 volumes maintained on hand and approximately 3.5 million items circulated annually. The current Claymont Library opened its doors in October 2013. It provides meeting and study rooms, dedicated teen and children's areas, a drive-up window, and various library events for all ages.
